Love Stories by Maddison's POV
The Blog
One of my absolute favorite parts of this job is getting to shoot at so many incredible venues across DFW and Texas!! Every single space brings its own light, its own layout, its own personality to the content I capture. And after 100+ weddings, I’ve picked up a few favorites along the way!
If you’re still venue hunting in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, here are 9 spots I’ve personally shot at and loved!!
Sunset Oaks
Tyler, Texas A modern farmhouse venue on 25 acres with floor-to-ceiling roll-up doors that open the reception straight onto a covered patio! The dedicated open-air chapel, with its whitewashed shiplap and church windows, is such a dream for golden hour getting-ready content and candid ceremony reactions.
The French Farmhouse
Aubrey, Texas A European-inspired estate on 56 acres with oak trees, a covered bridge, and a lake, plus a chapel full of vintage, one-of-a-kind decor pieces sourced from all over the world! The mix of manicured grounds and antique architectural details gives so much texture for storytelling content.
Knotting Hill Place
Little Elm, Texas A 17,000 square foot French chateau-style estate with soaring 55-foot ceilings and a light-filled Cathedral Room! The giant windows flood the ceremony space with natural light, which makes for some of the most candid, unposed getting-ready and reaction shots I capture all year.
Morgan Creek Barn
Dripping Springs, Texas A modern black-exterior barn in the Texas Hill Country, with whitewashed ceremony walls, tiered chandeliers, and a stone fireplace reception hall! The contrast between the sleek black exterior and bright, airy interior makes for such striking, dynamic behind-the-scenes content.
The Olana
Hickory Creek, Texas A 40-acre French baroque estate inspired by the Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte in Paris, complete with marble floors, sweeping ballrooms, and an outdoor grand staircase entrance! This is peak drama and grandeur, perfect for capturing those big, cinematic in-between moments.
Bella Cavalli
Aubrey, Texas A 130-acre property blending modern elegance with natural charm, including waterfront ceremony options and onsite animals for a whimsical touch! There’s always something happening in the background here, which makes for endlessly candid content.
The Milestone Mansion
Aubrey, Texas A Georgian Estate-style mansion on 52 acres, with a light-filled indoor ceremony space, crystal chandeliers, and a covered outdoor patio for cocktail hour! The grand foyer alone is such a good spot for capturing genuine, wide-eyed guest reactions as the day gets going.
Oak + Ivy
Aubrey, Texas An 11-acre venue with meadows and wooded areas, offering ceremonies under majestic oak trees or inside a barn with a light-filled Great Hall! The natural, unmanicured landscape gives content a soft, romantic, storybook feel.
Hotel Drover
Fort Worth, Texas A rustic-luxe hotel venue in the historic Fort Worth Stockyards, featuring The Barn with vaulted ceilings, reclaimed timbers, and terraces overlooking Mule Alley! The Stockyards location means built-in Western charm and constant movement all around, incredible for real, in-the-moment content.
Choosing the Right Venue for Your Content
While every venue on this list is beautiful in its own way, the best venue for your content is really the one that feels like YOU. Great natural light helps, but genuine, candid content comes from a day where you feel comfortable, present, and surrounded by the people you love, no matter which venue you choose!!
Getting married at one of these venues, or somewhere else entirely?? I’d love to capture your day! Start your inquiry here and let’s chat about your wedding!!
